Some garments carry more than just fabric — they carry story, spirit, and soul. This spring, we created a custom Soft Life kaftan for our friend Elmiene. A piece made slowly, intentionally.
We shot it on one of those rare London spring days where everything feels in rhythm. The sun was low, the breeze gentle, and the world had that golden haze that only happens for a few weeks each year. We chose to shoot outdoors, in a quiet corner of the city that felt half-forgotten — overgrown grass, crumbling stone walls, wildflowers pushing through concrete. The kind of place where nature is quietly reclaiming space.
Elmiene wore the kaftan like it was made for him — because it was. Cut in a soft, brushed cotton-linen blend, the piece drapes without effort, flowing as he walked, sat, moved. Embroidered just below the collar in understated thread: Soft Life. A mantra. A reminder. A mode of being.
This wasn’t about spectacle. No big crew. No lights. Just us, the piece, and the moment. We talked about rhythm, about slowness, and we let the camera find the stillness between words.
Clothing, for us, has never been just product. It’s a form of language. And this kaftan — light, grounded, intentional — speaks clearly. It’s about ease. Care. Presence. And about honouring the people we create for.
